Insane Weapons Mod 3 released
» 06:22 PM | Echon | 0 Comments
IWM 3 is out!
After almost 7 months, the latest & greatest version of IWM is finally out. Possibly the craziest mod for Quake2, IWM 3 introduces new weapons, an animal (Chocobo riding to the max!), our own new engine (running on latest EGL), new effects, and tons of other small features!

Also out is a patch that Vista users will need to get; for some reason the SDL does not work on Vista, so Vista users will need to grab that as well. Be sure to read the 'structions.

Xperiment still alive
» 04:22 PM | FraGGer | 0 Comments
So... Long time no see.

I guess we were all very busy with other stuff. but now I decided to go back and work on Xperiment again.
This is what came from that idea. I have made a Glock 18 also Uvmapped and textured it. next to show is the main menu. The backgound is a map showing.
And some concept art made by moH. This will be one of The Forgotten characters. One of the three teams.

I will be leaving monday for vacation which will last for two weeks yay. For more information during that time you can email to:

QFusion R9 released!
» 03:36 PM | Echon | 0 Comments
Vic has announced that QFusion R9 has been released!

Here's some of the changes:
  • OpenGL Shading Language support
  • Deluxemaps and bumpmapping support via GLSL, including support for lightstyles (see included "ravendelux" demo courtesy of Jalisko or use Nexuiz maps for demonstration)
  • Reworked OpenGL-states layer, minimizing the number of calls to OpenGL subsystem
  • OpenAL support (optional)
  • ALSA support for sound output on Linux systems
  • New shader keywords for GLSL, describing "materials" (diffusemap, heightmap/normalmap, glossmap)
  • New shader keywords for better compatibility with Warsow
  • Optimized mirrors and portals rendering using OpenGL scissor testing
  • Skyportals support (rendering the map from portal's camera position instead of regular skybox)
  • Rewritten renderer of SKM models (using matrix-palette animation)
  • Maps, models and shaders now take less memory and less likely to cause cache misses due to the redesign of used data structures and improved memory management
  • Support for .ogg files as regular sounds, not just background tracks
  • A good bunch of bugfixes, speedups, cleanups and improvements in all areas
  • Optimized rendering of maps with global fog (automatic detection, farclip is set to distance of fog opacity)

Visit QFusion's Homepage for more information.

  • Alteration: Attached forces are removed along with their attached host entity
  • Alteration: Area falloff functions have been renamed to allow new falloff types
  • Alteration: Object turbulence application now accepts an extra smoothness variable
  • Alteration: Global turbulence application now accepts an extra smoothness variable
  • Alteration: Bouyancy, resistance and turbulence mod values can now be found in gyro_user.qc
  • Addition: Forces may be assigned a single object to ignore
  • Addition: Two new force properties, ground-pound and persistence, have been added
  • Addition: Implemented a new cone/tube-shaped falloff component
